This Month at OMCC -- A Focus on Fall

Without a doubt, fall is the most colorful time of year in the Hocking Hills.  Nature-lovers of all types travel here to enjoy the many state parks and all of the surrounding beauty.  There is absolutely so much to see and do.

Animals scurry about prepping and stocking their winter supplies.  The trees turn magnificent shades of bronze, scarlet, gold and amber.  They give us a spectacular show as they too prepare for their final fall.  It truly is a majestic scene no matter where you turn.

Over the past few months Old Man's Cave Chalets has also prepared for the coming of fall.  Renovations to both interiors and exteriors of our A-frames, cabins, log homes and lodges have met with tremendous customer approval and we will continue adding more theme-based cabins like our Nature-Lovers and Romantic Hideaway Chalets.  Our goal is simple, to help bring the wondrous environment around us into the cabins to enhance your pleasure.

As you scroll down this month's Connections Newsletter you will find some great fall photos, some were taken professionally and some taken by amateur photographers.  We would like to encourage you to stay with us at OMCC and make sure you bring your digital camera.   Help us continue bringing the best of the outdoors, indoors by making your own mark.  If you submit a beautiful image of the Hocking Hills scenery to us, it may just end up on display in one of our Nature-Lover's Cabins.  You'll not only receive a by-line for the image but $25.00 cabin cash too!

Remember, whether you are looking for a middle of the week escape or making a long weekend of it in the hills, we hope you'll focus your attention, (and your cameras) this fall to Old Man's Cave Chalets and the beautiful Hocking Hills.

A Real Diamond in the Rough

There's always something very special about the fall months in the Hocking Hills.  Romantics and nature-lovers find their way to Old Man's Cave Chalets and create moments they'll cherish forever!  Maria & Matt from northern Kentucky, share their experience in this month's cabin journal letter.

Who would have ever thought that a quiet little town could be so much fun and full of surprises!  It all started when Matt surprised me with a getaway to the "Elk."  We enjoyed our first night by dining at the lodge restaurant and relaxing in the hot tub.  Day two came so bright and early.  We were off to hike Ash Cave, Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave.  We were getting ready to head back up from Old Man's Cave to get something to eat, when all of a sudden Matt was on his knee, asking me to marry him.  I just could not believe it!  It was so surreal!  The "Elk" will be a very memorable beginning of a future of unknowns and marriage with the man of my dreams.  This is the first of many trips to the "Elk."  We can't wait to return!!

Maria and Matt, we wish you many joyous years of love and life as you walk down all your paths together!
