News from Old Man's Cave Chalets
Red Robin Renovations Rolling Along |
Thank you for all your name and idea submissions for the soon-to-be-renamed Red Robin Cabin.
Renovations will be complete in mid-January and the newly designed
romantic cabin will be ready for you. In the meantime we thought we'd
share some of the early favorites and tell you we are still accepting
names and ideas for the cabin. If your name suggestion or creative romantic enhancement idea is selected, we'll send you a $50 gift certificate. Send your name or idea to connect@oldmanscavechalets.com
Some early name favorites - Sweet Retreat, Romantic Encounter, Lovenest, Ketubah, Sweet Serenity, just to name a few.

Owl Prowl at Conkle's Hollow
- Friday, December 26 - 6:00pm. See some of the most elusive owls in
Ohio right here in the Hocking Hills. Meet a Hocking Hills naturalist
at Conkle's Hollow parking area to join the tour. (Please no Pets on
the prowl.) Cost: Free. FMI - 740-385-6841.
Hocking Hills 43rd Winter Hike
- Saturday, January 17 - 9:00am-11:00am, continuous starts. A
fantastic annual 6-mile winter countryside hike from Old Man's Cave to
Ash Cave. Cost: FREE - Donations for bean soup and refreshments are
appreciated. FMI - 740-385-6841.
Winter Photography Workshop
- Saturday, January 24 - 9:00am - 5:00pm. A very practical and useable
nature photography workshop. We'll help you capture the arrival of
winter! Slide show presentation and handouts and lunch will be
provided. Four hour workshops are also available by appointment.

A Journal Plea, for Journal Letters Please! |
Brad
and Michelle from Kilbourne, Ohio stayed in an A-frame Cabin. Their
visit was a belated Christmas present to each other. We hope you enjoy
their cabin journal letter as much as they enjoy reading all of yours!
Hello Everyone! This experience started for us about a week ago when
my husband and I decided to get-away for the weekend. (Kid free!
Yes!) We put ourselves aside at Christmas and just worried about the
kids. Anyway the time has come for us and this is great! We've lived
in Ohio all our lives and have never visited a place as relaxing and
magical as this. There is just something about this cabin and the
atmosphere here that makes you forget about life and all of its
troubles and makes you feel love and peacefulness. We hope that your
stay here will be as enjoyable as ours. The staff has been great! We
recommend doing as much as possible. There is something different
about each cave. The whole family will be back next time and one of
the things we look forward to most is reading more amazing stories in
this book, so keep writing!
