The Traveling Chef Serves Up A Traveler's Feast |
In part three of our series of adding extra pleasures to your stay, we offer up The Traveling Chef.
A creation of the Grouse Nest Restaurant, the Traveling Chef is
designed to serve those customers who desire an intimate dining
experience for two in their very own cabin. From honeymoons, to
anniversaries and all getaway celebration reasons in-between, the
Traveling Chef creates the perfect ambiance and menu for you. Space
prevents us from listing their entire menu selections but their
"Signature Traveling Chef" and "Executive Dining Chef" packages are
truly the taste of the town featuring choices of shrimp cocktail, house
made soups, salads, New York strip, chicken, pork, lobster, beef
tenderloin, New York style cheesecake and more.
If your mouth
isn't watering just reading about it, imagine sipping champagne in
front of the fire while your personal culinary expert fills your cabin
with the aroma of the freshly prepared meal. "The aroma is awesome,"
says the Traveling Chef's Melody Strickland, "but people really enjoy
having a personal chef cooking in their own cabin. They enjoy the
special treatment and they enjoy the company." The Traveling Chef
also handles larger groups too and catering can be provided for group
gatherings and holiday parties in any of the OMCC lodges too.

When Everything was Fresh and New |
This
month's journal entry was an absolute favorite of many. It's all about
stepping away from life's pressures and traveling back to refresh the
romance with the one you love. Amanda and Nathan from Wellston, Ohio
share with us what so many others come to OMCC to find.
This was our second fall staying in the Chalets. We had a great time
especially in the hot tub with the chill of the night air. The view
outback of the trees and the falling leaves was very relaxing. My
husband and I needed this time with one another. It helped us recall
what it felt like when we first met. The butterflies in your
stomach...wanting to say and do the "perfect" thing. Pick out the
perfect outfit, perfume/cologne...just like when it all was new. We
went back to that moment and it was the most AMAZING night of our
lives. We hope those couples who stay here can experience the newness
like we did this weekend. Just remember, work, the boss, kids, family
and all of life's other demands are extremely important but the love
and passion you have for each other can be endless. Cheers!

the mood to hike through the hills during the "turkey" holiday season,
bring your camera and get a great shot of wild turkey. There's plenty
of gobbler's on parade in the hills. You'll catch these fellows early
in the morning on their trek in search of the nearest berry tree. Or,
if you like your turkey a little more under control, see the idea we
have below.
For
those who want a Thanksgiving dinner with all the care that grandma
puts in, while not having to go to grandma's, we have the answer. The Olde Dutch Restaurant will
be featuring their yearly Thanksgiving Buffet. This is the perfect
