Just because it's called the Red Robin Cabin, you might think we like to rebuild the nest every year! Well not quite but starting December 1, the Red Robin Cabin has been targeted for a brand new makeover with renovating and reconstruction just to make it an even better place for you to roost.

When the Red Robin reopens you'll notice the same great cabin in the same great woodland setting. However, there will be some noticeable additions including a brand new finished basement with large flat screen TVs perfect for movie or sports fanatics. Also, a new screened-in porch, stone fireplace, kitchen appliances, bedroom furnishings, additional woodwork, wood floors, ceramic tile and natural decor. Old Man's Cave Chalets ownership stays in-touch with the recommendations of our customers and ahead of the game when it comes to providing and maintaining the highest rated cabins, suites, log homes and lodges in the Hocking Hills.

Make the moment last forever

Last month we featured The Perfect Touch Massage Therapy in our effort to give you additional services and make your stay extra special. This month you can immortalize your Hocking Hills adventure with your own personal photographer with renowned Hocking Hills photographer Eric Hoffman. Photography by Hoffman provides you with a complete package of photos whether its couples, anniversaries, reunions, even sessions with your pets! What makes it all so unique is where your photos can be taken. Imagine your images being captured in front of cascading waterfalls, stone bridges or carved out rock formations. Hoffman's specialty is not only photographing you in the beautiful fall scenery, he also gives you a full history of the Hocking Hills too. "People just love to get their pictures taken near the rock formations, cliff walls and all of the natural areas but I get many comments that they like the tour and complete history of the hills just as much." Hoffman said.

Photography by Hoffman provides you with a large resolution image CD of 12 poses, (although he never stops at 12 and doesn't charge for more) along with a 4" X 6" photo album with your proof set. Every Saturday in October - Horse drawn Hayrides - Organized by Lake Hope State Park, enjoy a 20 minute hayride through the hills. Rides begin at the Nature Center. COST - FREE. FMI - (740) 596-3030.

Falling in Love with The Falls

For those who really LOVE the great outdoors, you should enjoy this month's journal letter from Lance and Anne of Louisiana. They also know how to enjoy all that nature has to offer! Enjoy their entry.

Hello! Lance and Anne here. We're from Baton Rouge, LA. I, (Anne) was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. My parents and sister and her family now all live in Miamisburg. We drove up from Baton Rouge, (14 hours) to visit the family. Lance and I never get vacations alone, (no one to leave the kids with) so we planned a vacation within our vacation. We have been married eight beautiful years. I thought it would be nice for my babies, (Christian 6 and Kate 3) to have some time alone with their Granny and Pappaw...so a few clicks on the internet and here we are! Upon arriving I saw all of the other cabin advertisements and now realize how lucky we are that we happened on this one. We hit the jackpot! We have fallen in love with the Falls Cabin. It's so quaint and so clean! We spent more "romantic time" outside than in!! That is very unlike us but it's so private out here. We had a couples massage on the deck and it felt so heavenly! The birds were singing and the leaves were rustling. The sun was softly peaking through the trees. It was very relaxing. Oh! We also made a friend - a beautiful doe. She walked up so close to us in the driveway. She was chomping on leaves and looking right into my eyes. I had my camera on hand and she was the perfect end to a trip that will now be cherished memories. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Lance & Anne, Baton Rouge, LA.
