Why stay with The Chalets?

 

 

The Chalets is the original cabin rental operation of the Hocking Hills. Established in 1988 by a native Hocking County resident. Starting with 16 A-Frame Cabins and the Fallswood Lodge, we have grown to 50 premier cabins – those still being the number 1 preferred and referred lodging establishment of the Hocking Hills. There are no surprises as to the quality, cleanliness and friendliness you will receive from our establishment. We are continually upgrading our cabins and lodges. We spend more on upgrades than any of our competitors on an annual basis.

 

Do you have gift cards?

 

 

Old Man’s Cave Chalets’ Gift Cards may be purchased via our website or calling our office. Purchase in a dollar amount to use toward a stay or we will gladly itemize the cost of a stay for you.

What is the weekend two night minimum?

 

A two night minimum on weekend is Thursday/Friday, Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. Any stay that consist of a Friday or Saturday night is considered a two night minimum at weekend rates.
During Saver Season some cabins may be available for a one night rental on weekends.

 

Do you allow a Sunday only reservation?

Sunday only reservations are permitted for A-Frame Cabins and Luxury Cabins at a weekday rate. A Saturday and Sunday together – 2 nights – are both nights at the weekend rate.

What is the Holiday 3 Night Minimum Stay?

Holiday weekends or Special Event periods are a 3 night minimum. Lodges are a 3 night minimum stay Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends.

When is Check-In time?

We can guarantee that your cabin will be completely ready for you at 4:00pm. Due to the geographical location and pre-arrival inspections of the cabins and the hot tubs, we do not accept early check-ins.

When is Check-Out time?

Please check-out promptly by 11:00am.

What is your Pet policy?

Permitted only in cabins designated as ‘pet friendly’ with prior approval by OMCC. Pets must be reported to and approved by OMCC prior to arrival and occupy. Absolutely no pets in non pet friendly cabins.

Pets are permitted only in cabins designated with prior approval by OMCC.
Maximum number of pets per cabin two (2).
The pet fee is $50.00 per stay plus tax.
Pets must be well mannered and house broken.
Pets must be kept on a leash when outside and with you.
Pets are NOT to be left unattended or alone in the cabins.
Crates, pens or carrying case are mandatory.
No rottweilers, dobermans, pit bulls, or any vicious breed permitted. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Which cabins are pet friendly?

Select A-Frame Cabins, Barn, Coyote, Turkey Run, Sycamore Log Cabin, Settler, Timber Ridge, Alpine, Oakridge, Pine Creek, Pioneer, Aspen, Deer Run, and Love Shak Cottages.

What is the minimum age requirement to rent a cabin?

You must be 21 or older to rent our 2-6 person cabins, and 25 or older to rent our larger 8+ person cabins & lodges. As the responsible member of your group you will be responsible for any occurrences during the stay. A photo copy of your driver’s license will be taken at the time of check in.

Do you require a depost?

At the time of making your reservation the full amount will be applied to your credit card. If you are staying more than one night and would like to pay a deposit of 50% instead of the full balance, please call into our office at 800-762-9396 to make the reservation. Any remaining balance is due upon arrival and may be paid in cash or credit card. We do not accept checks. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Master Card and Discover. The credit card must be in the same name as the person making the reservation. One night rentals are allowed Sun. – Thurs. (Lodges excluded Memorial Day – Labor Day). Please complete, sign and return all rental documents prior to check-in.

What is your Cabin or A-Frame cancellation policy?

If you cancel your Cabin or A-Frame Cabin reservation 30 days prior to the arrival date, you will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee and refunded your prepaid amount. If you cancel your reservation within 30 days of the arrival date, you will not receive a refund of your prepaid amount and the remaining balance will be charged to your credit card on file. However, if we are able to re-rent your cabin or suite for the same period at equal value, then you will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee and refunded the full or partial amount of your prepayment. There are no cancellations due to inclement weather. Approved changes to the dates of your reservation are subject to a $50.00 fee.

What is your Lodge cancellation policy?

LODGES: 1. If you cancel within [(90) days] of your arrival date, your account will be charged the entire rental fee, unless we are able to secure another occupant. OMCC will make every effort to secure another occupant. If we are able to secure another occupant, then you will receive a partial refund of your prepaid rental fee, less the amount of the first nights stay. 2. If you cancel earlier than [ninety (90) days] of your arrival date, you will receive a full refund of your rental fee, less a $250.00 cancellation fee. OMCC reserves the right to cancel this reservation at any time by returning your full deposit. Any change in the arrival date requires OMCC approval. There are no cancellations due to inclement weather.

What is the maximum occupancy?

Please check the maximum occupancy allowed for each A-Frame Cabin, Cabin or Lodge and remember that this includes children. To ensure your safety, we cannot permit you to exceed the maximum occupancy in or around the facility at any time. No tents, campers or any additional persons permitted. A fee of $25.00 per person will be charged to your account per day for any violations.

What is included with the linens and supplies?

We supply the bed, bath and kitchen linens, dishes, dish soap, hand soap, glassware, silverware, pots and pans and trash bags. All facilities have central air conditioning and heat, a TV, DVD player, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, outdoor charcoal grill, a fireplace and private hot tub. You may want to bring additional beach towels for the hot tub and swimming pool.

What is your policy on firewood?

Firewood may be purchased at our Rental Office. (seasonal)

What do I need to bring with me?

Food items, salt and pepper, charcoal, foil, paper towels and/or napkins, beach towels, alarm clock, flashlight, wood and/or starter logs -if you have wood burning fireplace. PREPAID CALLING CARD OR CELL PHONE IS SUGGESTED.

Do you have a guest swimming pool?

Our Guest and Lodge swimming pools are outdoor. Open Memorial Day weekend through the Labor Day weekend. No pets allowed in swimming area.

Do you allow outdoor fires?

Due to the thick woods surrounding your cabin, campfires are not permitted.

Is smoking allowed in cabins?

Our cabins are non-smoking indoors. Thank you!
